| TIERRA NUEVA Tierra Nueva is the result of the union of a group of musicians from different cultures and backgrounds with the desire to create a new sound by fusing different musical styles. It is the successful merger of the strength and richness of Latin Afro-Cuban rhythms with the dynamism and pulse of jazz funk. Tierra Nueva takes it's name from the artistic movement that began in Cuba in the early 90s. |  |

reggae, hip hop, jazz, AfroCuban roots and rock, infusing them with the
richest flavour of the Cuban musical trends. Timba, Rumba, Conga,
Guaracha, Chachachá and Son are interpreted in a fresh way, creating a
more universal and open sound. Tierra Nueva was created in 2007 in Spain and later moved to the UK. Between 2007 and 2008 the Tierra Nueva project participated in various International festivals of jazz, funk and word music . In 2007 musicians from the project recorded the CD Barrio de Cuba and in 2008 the CD Equipaje. Now based in Australia, with new members, Tierra Nueva wants to win the hearts and minds of the local music lovers. Tierra Nueva is looking for venues that share our passion to bring great tunes to people who like their music fresh and vibrant. The band has a broad repertoire that includes songs of young Cuban songwriters and original work composed by the director. As its name implies Tierra Nueva is a tribute to the freedom of creation. It is an invitation to explore and search new and alternative sounds and then merge them into the same space at the same time, in the same Earth. The product is a fresh fusion offered with love and devotion to a public eager to enjoy good music.
