  STAYING IN SHAPE

? How does Jaime Jesus start his day?
On any regular morning when I wake up, the very first thing I do is call my beautiful dogs up onto the bed for a good morning cuddle. They are my best friends in the world and have been by my side for many years through the good, the bad and the ugly. Then after a refreshing morning shower, I hit the kitchen and start to cook the most important meal for me in the day, BREAKFAST!!!

? What do you consider a “healthy breakfast” to help kick start your day?
My breakfast is usually a tapas style mix of small plates consisting of scrambled eggs, diced tomato, mushrooms, chorizo (to spoil myself); a cup of tea with soy milk, gluten free toast and olive butter. I have just recently started eating gluten and wheat free foods... MAJOR DIFFERENCE!!!

? What does your exercise regime include?
Well, my training regime varies a lot actually! I visit the gym 5 days a week focusing mainly on my abs. I work on different areas of the body on different days (for example, chest) to ensure a full overall body work.

? Do you eat a balanced diet of home cooked meals?
Yeah, I always eat a well balanced diet. I eat a lot of home cooked meals as I love to cook and it's one of my favourite pass times. I eat high carbs foods in the morning, but I am very strict on what I eat for lunch light and high protein foods. On the weekends and i'll eat anything like pizza or Maccas as a bit of a treat.
And as for alcohol, I drink in moderation on weekends; and if I had a favourite drink it would be the Mexican combination of Corona and Tequila heheehe.

? What’s your favourite meal to cook?
My favourite meal is grilled salmon with a Greek Salad. Very simple, but very tasty and hits the spot every time!!!

? How many hours a week do you spend in the studio dancing, that is, teaching or rehearsals, etc.?
Running my own dance company, running events, MC work, as well as teaching and performing overseas and all over Australia really does require a lot of physical energy. But I would say I spend 6 hours a day working in the office at LDA, 2 hours working out and 3 hours teaching, etc.. It varies a little, but on average that’s about right.
