A professional business congress generally has a common set of elements: presentations, lectures, panel discussions, workshops etc. However, a Salsa congress is mainly a meeting of professional Instructors normally the best-of hand picked from around the world and professional and amateur salsa dancers coming together over a set of days to enjoy salsa through:

- master classes and on occassion competitions.
The difference between a salsa festival and congress is the difference between the level of International Instructor representation, number of people in attendence, the elements covered as mentioned within.
